Industrial Trades

The Academy Schools stresses self-achievement and has developed a creative industrial trades program to foster this personal growth in our students. Our schools offer a wide range of trades courses including:

• Carpentry
• Cosmetology
• Custodial Maintenance
• Electrical Wiring
• Food Service
• Optical Lab Training
• Screen-Printing
• Structural Repair (Painting, Dry-Walling, Flooring, etc.)
• Woodworking

Whether working in our state-of-the-art optical lab, building bookshelves in the workshop, or assisting the chefs in our kitchen with meals, students acquire invaluable, hands-on experience, which will equip them with the tools necessary to contribute positively and successfully to the community.

This component of our students’ rehabilitation teaches them basic trade skills, instills a solid and positive work ethic, and paves the way to a means of self-sufficiency and independence. We feel that Industrial Trades training is an excellent method for teaching a pro-social value system while building positive character traits in our young men and women.
