Given the pace of society today, it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to advance one’s life in a positive manner without an education. Equipped with a solid, broad education, a student can succeed in virtually any task he or she undertakes. The schools within our system focus not only on educating our students, but also imparting on them a passion for learning as well.
On average, students come to our schools functioning two to three years below their appropriate grade level. Thus, we are challenged to accelerate their understanding of core subject matter in a limited period of time. Students must be placed in the grade which their home school district has designated. However, some students take advantage of the Learning Center, where they have the opportunity to be taught math and reading at the level which their true ability lies, as measured by the Metropolitan Achievement Test. Tutors individualize math and reading instruction with the assistance of specific computer-based programs.
Courses offered within our system of schools include, but are not limited to: Algebra, Geometry, Health/Physical Education, English, U.S. History, Civics, African American History, Earth/Space Science, Biology, and Chemistry.
