WE ARE SA!
The Summit Knights are a member of the WPIAL (Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League) and compete in seven varsity interscholastic sports including football, basketball, baseball, wrestling, track and field, volleyball and golf.
The Summit Knights’ basketball team, in its first year of participation in the WPIAL, 1999, and again in 2001, advanced through the playoffs to the state tournament. Athletes in both wrestling and track have also been very successful in state tournaments. Not only are the athletes heralded for their achievements, but also the student fans have been recognized as well. For three consecutive years, the WPIAL has honored the Knights and their following with the Sportsmanship Award given to schools who show exemplary sportsmanship within their program and sportsmanlike conduct at athletic events.
Knights Pep Club
Following in the philosophy of teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude, the Knight’s Pep Club was formed to support their fellow students on the playing field.
This core group of students includes a drum corps, mascots, flag bearers, and "cheerleaders”, who practice positive cheers and claps in unison to lead fellow students and fans in support of the Knights.
Each year, the Pep Club travels to Annapolis, Maryland for an overnight field trip to explore the Naval Academy and witness their famed Pep Club in action at a football game. We want our students in the pep club to be exposed to a heralded group with their same mission whose style is traditional and passion is rich.
